Many of these sites offer technical support columns, wiring and schematic diagrams, repair and maintenance tips as well as discussion forums.   You can also download owners information guides and check out important warranty information.

In most instances, your retail outlet (particularly if you are a Musician's Friend customer!) can provide technical support.  However, for those musicians who like to share opinions and information, and have helpful information on tap 24/7, manufacturer websites can prove a very valuable resource.

If you take any type of music lesson, your instructor will most likely tell you all about your instrument. At your guitar lesson, ask your instructor which guitar is best for what type of music you want to play. If you're taking a piano lesson, see if your teacher knows of anyone selling their piano - you may be able to get it at a discount.
